Peg Tobin

Peg Tobin is a Registered Nurse who went from floor nurse to manager to corporate VP and now to the owner of Tobin & Associates a national healthcare executive recruitment firm.  She is the co-Founder of Interactive Care Network (ICN) a hospital discharge system. Peg is an entrepreneur that has successfully developed tools and systems that have been adopted by multiple industries to improve the flow of communications.

The last 8 years Peg was in the field as a Director of Nurses (3 different facilities), she and her team succeeded in achieving 'zero deficiency' surveys each year. When she was promoted to corporate reimbursement nurse she lead a team of nurses to re-capture 8 million dollars of suspended medicare dollars for one division and the 'recapturing' trend spread to 6 other districts ending with saving the organization she worked for millions upon millions of dollars.  As a corporate nurse she was given the assignment to operate in the capacity of the company's representative for Administrative Law Judge Hearings in several states to defend against Medicare CMS Denial Cases, each case she represented the company the denials were reversed and the the court ruled in favor of the company.  Upon her success as a legal representative she asked and received permission to train 12 other nurses to become legal representatives.  Those nurses went on to win case after case against CMS.

As Corporate VP she had oversight of 5 states and she states it was the best training she ever received in learning how to be a mentor and truly delegate.

Peg has become a success in the world of business and life, through trials, difficulties and a strong ability to rise above the obstacles. Her unique sense of humor has been used to encourage, enlighten and help others overcome their trials and end up on the side of success.  Peg has published several articles with Industry Trade Magazines and she lectures and educates at both the local and national level at annual state healthcare conventions.  Along with writing articles, Peg is the author of two books on leadership, “Delegate or Suffocate” and "Are you setting the Pace, or taking up Space?"  and three workbooks, "Nursing Home Administrator Facility Orientation Guide", "Director of Nurses Facility Orientation Guide", " Leadership Connection - Program Workbook and Instructor's Guide".

In 2006, Peg developed an investment company, Conceptual Beginning, to use to invests in startup companies. In 2012 she developed a 501c3 organization, Ordinary Women Make a Difference,  to help develop women into their fullest potential.  Peg believes, “Every person is here for a reason and she is committed to helping them discover that reason and make their dreams a reality."

Some of the accolades Peg has received are:

  • Business Person of the Year - Canal Winchester Chamber of Commerce
  • Profiled three times in articles regarding 'Women Who Achieve'
  • Jane Johnsen 'Women of Vision" award from Ohio University
  • Athena Leadership Award

Peg's motto is: "as long as you are helping others to improve, the door to opportunity will open for you."  Her favorite words of wisdom are 'Recognize your 'passion' and go for it. When you fall down, get back up and go at it again. When you have faith in you, you will succeed.'

Richard Tobin is a proven healthcare leader. He has served as a preceptor to multiple administrators in training. Richard's leadership experience is deeply embedded in start up facilities and market analysis.  His leadership strength lies in his innate ability to build a team, engage associates, educate and empower team members to take the next step to formulate their own success story.

Richard was transferred from state to state to take over facilities and improve their standing with the federal/state surveyors.  Each facility he was sent to improved and ended up being the facility of choice for the community.  Richard used his talent in communication and true empathy for the family and residents to build his private pay census to 60% of the facility population.  He is a sought after expert for his input and resolutions to:

  • Decreasing staff turn over
  • Increasing staff engagement
  • Census improvement
  • Improved image and branding
  • Financial and budgetary strategies
  • Market analyses
  • Acquisitions
  • New builds
